Customers place orders with a minimum of four days’ notice, enabling the company to provide fresher ingredients, greater variety, reduced food waste, and a lower carbon footprint. The production process is designed to minimize food waste by ordering precise quantities of ingredients from suppliers and packing them into exact portions for customers.
Eldum rétt also produces meal boxes under the brand name “Einstakir réttir”, which are sold in Hagkaup stores. Each box contains perfectly portioned ingredients for two people, along with a recipe, similar to the meal kits available online. Nine different dishes are available at any given time.
